Couldn't resist answering. Do not know that there is any connection but here goes. We have a William Black b. 1774 in VA. However, he was living in Mecklenburg NC by 1793 as he married Mary Irwin there that year. They had 8 children in Mecklenburg - one a son named John D. Black b. 1810. They moved on to Alabama around the 1830s. I checked out the 1790 census for Mecklenburg NC. A nice batch of Blacks living there. Do not know if some of those Blacks are related but it is a possiblity as mine were clanish and moved about together. The entire family moved on to Alabama in the 1830s.
