Yes, its me. I do not have your e-mail address. Mine is . Margaret does seem to be a dead end. Took the cemetery tour many years ago with mom and photographed headstones, but mom never took me to the one in Westfield where Thomas and Jane Black have stones. I found out about them in a Marquette Co. website. If they are Margaret Black's parents, her mother Jane would have died when Margaret was 12 or so and Jane would have been 39 when she had her so she may me a youngest or an only child. How did you know Margaret's middle name was Bernadine? I have never seen that anywhere. Do you know where she is buried? Got grandmas social security number and thought perhaps getting that record might help. It is said those records have information about parents. Like you, the story of Margaret Black fascinates me. My mom has a letter she wrote a few days before giving birth to grandma and have poured over it to find clues. She was writing to her father !
(not mother. perhaps because her mother was already dead?) and mentions an uncle Hugh. Mom thinks Hugh was Hugh Russell and there is a Hugh Russell buried next to Thomas and Jane Black in Westfield, but he would have been dead when she was writing the letter, so thought maybe he was Jane Black's father, times fit. There certainly could have been a Hugh Russell Jr. who could have been her uncle.
Would love to share info with you. Have much more on the Vaughns than I did a month ago too.
Have sat down to write you more than once with what I have found, but each time I start I think, I cannot write all of this, need to draw a map!
Send me your e-mail at Sparkles....... and I will complie what I have for you.
Great hearing from you!
Mary Ellen
