Hi, My name is Julie(Black) Ormbrek. My gg-grandfather was William Cain Black. I do not know who his father was, but I'm wondering if it was Carlisle Black. Carlisle had a son named William in the 1850 Winston county census, but no middle name is given. William Cain Black married Mary Odom, a dependant in the household(possibly his wife's sister, niece, or daughter of a prevoius spouse-both wife Ann and Mary Odom were from SC) of Ludwell Smith, planter, in Flora,Ms. My great grandfather, James Pliny Black was born 3-13-1854. Carlisle's son William was 16 in the 1850 census, which would have made him 20 or so when my great grandfather was born,so it's plausible. There is only one other William Black listed of a similar age during the 1850 census anywhere close county-wise that I can find. If you all know what Carlisle's son William's middle name was, would you email me at ? Thanks and much obliged. Julie (Black) Ormbrek
