HOLTROP; Pauline BLACK

Private Graveside services for Mrs. Pauline Holtrop 89, of Ashland,
was held Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at the Scenic Hills Memorial Park in
Ashland Oregon with the Pastor Don Hildebrand officiating. Mrs Holtrop
died, June 9, 2001 at the Rogue Valley Manor in Medford, OR.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of choice in
Pauline's name.

Pauline was born September 23, 1911 in Council Bluffs Iowa to
Frederick J Black and Pearl R. Roe. On June 6, 1938 at Council Bluffs,
Iowa, she married William F Holtrop who died in 1993.

Pauline completed her schooling through high School in Nebraska,
received her BA degree from Kearney State Teachers College, Kearney
Nebraska and a Masters Degree from the University of Nebraska at
Lincoln in 1935.

She taught high school English, Spanish, drama, PE Director of Parent,
child workshop, Santa Barbara, CA, and Early Childhood development.

She loved reading, playing bridge, crocheting, creative writing and
belonged to UCSB Faculty Wives Club, PTA, Delta Sigma Epsilon Sorority
and the Copco Lake Social Committee. She was an active member of the
Trinity Episcopal Church, Santa Barbara CA, and the First Presbyterian
Church of Medford, OR.

She is survived by one son John W Holtrop and wife Rose Marie of
Ridgecrest, CA, two daughters, Barbara J Erden and husband Steve of
Morro Bay, CA, Marsha McBaine and husband Robert of Ashland, OR, a
sister Frances McMillan of Broken Bow NE, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, and two brothers Robert and
Allan Black.

Arrangements were made at the Litwiller - Simonsen Funeral Home and
Crematory in Ashland Oregon.
