Hello all....

Does anyone have information regarding the adoption of Joseph b. abt. 1797 in
PA who took on the last name BLACK? The BLACK surname was originally SWARTZ.
I do not know what Joseph's birth surname is/was.

He married Nancy GARDENER then Sarah E. DICKERSON. He lived the majority of
his life in the St. Joseph County, MI area. He died between 1870-1880 and is
assumed to be buried at Mendon Cemetery in the family plot.

His known children were:

Joseph Whitney BLACK (aka: Whit/Whitney)
Stephen BLACK
Alice BLACK
Matilda BLACK
David BLACK
Annie BLACK
