Just to through fuel on the fire. Doni Barnes was right you should know the nationality of your BLACK's. This does make the search just a tad easier. But to assume that all BLACK's are either Irish or German would be a false move. The Surname BLACK also originated in England and Scotland. Also if you find Irish rots by this last name do not assume they are real Irish they may be what is referred to as Scot - Irish. I will not bore you with a long history of the Scottish version of the surname. (Because my line of BLACK's are from Scotland) But if you would like more information on there origin and history fill free to e-mail me.
