Doni, Thanks for the reply. I wish it was the right family, but I have
some serious reservations about that. The information on the Nathaniel
Black you give looks similar to that in the information in the 1860 and
1870 census for Anderson Co. TX. In both of those there was a Nathaniel
Black living in the household of a Thomas Black (b. @ 1802 in TN) and Lydia
Black (b. @ 1804 in SC). The father of Nathaniel, John Black is clearly
not the John B. Black that I am researching, given his age, state of birth,
marriage, etc. Nathaniel's brother, John Pettus Black seems to the the
wrong age and born in the wrong state to be my John Black (even if the
middle initial B. is a misheard P). Do you have any reason to believe that
any of your Black family moved to Anderson Co.TX?
