Muster and Descriptive Roll of Company F read as followed:
John Black was ranked as a Private, enlisted at the age of 20. He was 5
' 7 1/4" Tall, with light hair, hazel eyes, dark complexion. He was married
at time of enlistment. And listed farmer as occupation. He joined Aug 18
1861 from Elbridge Township. His actual date of mustering was Aug. 23 1861
at Camp Butler. Other remarks on the records say he transferred Sept. 15,
1863.

married (2) CATHERINE REILLY/MURPHY/MCGIVEN September 22, 1890 in Edgar
County, Illinois, daughter of PAT REILLY and SARAH MURPHY.
Notes for ABRAHAM BLACK: I found Abraham's tombstone in the Edgar County
Cemetery, in Paris, IL. It was right next to his daughter, Nannnie's and
son in law John Hamilton. It was a Military tombstone it said: ( I took
a picture of it) Colonel Abraham Black 30th ILL Inf. Vol. Muster and Descriptive
Roll of Company F read as followed: Abraham Black was ranked as a Private,
enlisted at the age of 20. He was 5 ' 10 1/4" Tall, with light hair, hazel
eyes, light complexion. He was unmarried at time of enlistment. And listed
farmer as occupation. He joined Aug. 18 1861 from Elbridge Township. His
actual date of mustering was Aug. 23 1861 at Camp Butler. Other remarks
on the records say he re-enlisted as veteran.
