Looking for information on the parents of Hugh Martin Black of Birmingham,
AL for most of his life. Hugh was born 5 May 1892 in Pratt, AL. He died
on 12 Sep 1966 and is buried in the Bivens Chapel Cemetery near Birmingham.
I know his father's name was David Black, born 26 Sep 1864 and died on
5 Mar 1900. He also is buried in the Bivens Chapel Cemetery. He was married
to Artie Burrell who remarried an older man named "Bivens" after David
died. David Black and Artie Burrell had the following children. 1. Hugh
Black, already mentioned above 2. Fred Black born 22 Jul 1898, married
to Blanche ??? 3. Stanley Black born 21 Oct 1895 and died 29 Nov 1973 4.
Nora Black born in 1890, died 1968. and 5. Dave Black who died at the age
of 16 in a coal mine accident. There may have been other children. My dad
was the son of Hugh Black. I have not been able to locate any information
as to whom the parents of the 1864 David Black. Any information about those
parents or any other relatives of Hugh Martin Black will be most appreciated.
