I am looking for the parents of Sophrona Black Jones and her siblings also.
Sophrona was married to John William {Jack} Jones on July 10, 1837. I think
she was born abt. 1820 in S.C. and died in Forest, Texas and is buried
at the Forest-Thompson Cementery in Forest, Texas. She and John had 14
children. They were:
1. William Early Jones--marr. Sarah Ann McDaniel
2. Rockie Ann Jones--married James A. McDaniel
3. Nancy E. Jones--married D.P. Barker {school teacher}
4. John H. Jones--married Rockey Anna
5. Wesley T. Jones born in 1843 in Ala.
6. John Sophriah Jones--married J.A. Barker
7. I. Sophina Jones--married--William F. Barker
8. Josephus Augustus Jones--married Mary Ann Dodson and then

Sarah ?
9. Josephine Augusta Jones--twin to Josephus & my GG Grandmother--married
Joseph Robert Halbert in Cherokee Co., Texas and she died on Oct. 7, 1886
in Erath Co., Texas. She died of T.B. She is buried in Gordon, Texas. She
was born on Feb. 1, 1847 in Ala. Her husband, Joseph Halbert was murdered
in Dallas by some train robbers after he witnessed their crime. Their children
were left orphans.
10. Madaria D. Jones--born 1849 in Ala.
11. Frank P. Jones--married Sarah J. Moore
12. Francis P. Jones--born 1853 in Ala.
13. Madora {Mary} Ida Jones--married John Dial
14. Daniel Marcus Jones--married Alice Orah Dowdler
