Hi,
I am new to the list and thought I would post my BLACK family, what little I know tonight. My GGG Grandmother was
SOPHRONA S. BLACK. She was born in 1820 in South Carolina. She was married to John William {Jack} Jones on July 10, 1837. She died in Forest, Texas in East Texas and is buried at the Thompson Cementery in Forest, Texas. I have no idea who her parents or siblings were. She and John W. Jack Jones had 14 children. My GG Grandmother, was # 9. She was Josephine Augusta Jones and she had a twin brother, Josephus Augusta Jones. Here are the kids of Sophrona S. Black and Jack Jones. Perhaps someone out there is descended from one of them.

2. Rockie Ann Jones--b 1839 in Ga. --marr. James A. McDaniel on June 27, 1854
3 Nancy E. Jones--b- 1841-in Ala. marr. D.P. Barker {school teacher}
4. John H. Jones--b- 1842 in Ala. marr.- Rockey Anna abt. 1872
5. Wesley T. Jones--b- 1843 in Ala.
6. John Sophriah Jones--b- 1845--Ala.--marr. J.A. Barker--on Dec. 25, 1862
7. I.Sophina Jones--b- July 31, 1846 marr. to William F. Barker
8. Josephus Augusta Jones--b- Feb. 1, 1847 in Ala.--marr. to 1. Mary Ann Dodson, 2. Sarah. He married Mary Dodson on
May 3, 1866. --twin to Josephine Augusta Jones
9. Josephine Augusta Jones--b- Feb. 1, 1847--twin--born Ala.-marr. to Joseph Robert Halbert on Oct. 30, 1867.
She died of T.B. on Oct. 7, 1886 in Erath Co., TExas. She is buried in Gordon, Texas.
10. Madaria D. Jones-- bo 1849 in Ala.
11. Frank P. Jones--b- 1853 in Ala.--marr. Sarah J. Moore on Feb. 3, 1876
12. Francis P. Jones--b- 1853 in Ala.
13. Madora {Mary} Ida Jones--b- 1854 in Ala. -marr. John Dial
14. Daniel Marcus Jones--b- April 10, 1858 in Ala. --marr. Alice Orah Dowdler on Feb. 10, 1881. He died on July 7, 1939 in
Forest, Texas.
Just my luck to have such common names as Jones and Black to try to find, but maybe someone will recognize some of the kids in their line. Thanks,
