Several of you expressed an interest in David Black of the Rowan Co, area of
North Carolina. Here is ALL I know about the name David Black.

David Black was a member of Fourth Creek Presbyterian Church in 1773 [now
First Presbyterian Church of Statesville, NC.].

David Black, Revolutionary Soldier; pension application # S10393:
He made his application for pension in Fayette Co, AL on 19 Sept 1834.
Among other areas of service, he was at Ramsour's Mill battle in Lincoln Co,
NC. He was born 1 March 1760 in Rowan Co, NC in the part that became
Iredell County. He remained there until the year 1810, then he lived in
Tennessee and Alabama. [He did not say in what Tenn. county]. For the
purpose of paying the pension, his records were transferred to the
"Tuskalossa Agency in 1840 [AL]. He was paid by the Mobile Agency in 1839.
There is no family information in this file.

David Black of Iredell Co., NC married Elizabeth Johnson, 5 May 1791 [date
of bond], Lincoln Co, NC; Jos. Steel, surety; Isaac Lowrance, witness
[Marriage Bonds of Lincoln Co, NC].
