Hello,
This is my first posting to the list. I am looking for information on the following family members. I am also seeking copies of old photographs of them. Any help will be greatly appreciated and I will be glad to share the information that I have.

All of the following lived in the Coles/Cumberland County area:

BLACK, Alexander born 1795 in Alabama, was in Coles Co. by 1840 census
BLACK, Unknown - the first wife of Alexander Black, deceased by 1832
MARRS/MEYERS, Mary - the second wife of Alexander Black
BLACK, William, Jonathan, David, Jesse, Alexander, Thomas, James, John - all sons of Alexander Black

VANTASSEL, Samuel born 1813 in New York
EDWARDS, Clarinda born 1818 in Ohio, wife of Samuel Vantassel
VANTASSEL, Lilas born 1857 in Illinois, their daughter

EDWARDS, Elijah born about 1790 in NY, married Ruth Young, moved to area in 1839

STULL, Temperance "Patience" born 1826 in Illinois, daughter of Laurence Hugh Stull, Jr. and Philadelphia Creek, married David Black

BENSLEY, Eliza Jane Black, m. Thomas Bensley
WOOLEVER, Permelia Black, m. Leonard Woolever
HILL, Harriet Lucinda Black, m. Lewis Hill
DUNN, Cerilda/Serilda Black, m. John Dunn

Most of these people are buried in Union/Johnson Cemetery or Nebo Cemetery.
