Correction on the year Samuel Black came to America from Ireland, he landed
in NY in 1791. Then, in 1793 he m. Mary Gowan, from Scotland.
They then, settled in Washington Co, PA, where he built the first glass works
and flour mill. He also manufactured whiskey and transported boat loads of
foods and goods to New Orleans for sale. They were said to be the largest
land holders in the area.

They had Caroline, Hester, Mary F., Jane, Elizabeth, Marcus, Cyrus, Samuel
and possibly 2-3 others...Ross and ?.
