I and at least 4 others have most data on American offspring of James Black,
who was b. abt 18__ , m. Jane Bourke ______ in Dromare, Co. Down, Ireland.
He died in Ireland abt ______by accident; Jane Bourke Black remarried George
Brown, and had at least one son named for his father.
Family lore tells that James Black's son, James Black, emigrated to
Hemmingford, Quebec, Canada for a short while, then to Chicago, briefly, then
to Dunn Co., WI. He married Catherine Isabelle Meehan in 1869? in
Menominee, Dunn Co. in _______, had 7 or so children, whose offspring are now
into the hundreds. We know of most of these, but would welcome any messages
from them to update and greet! We seek any info on collateral lines, such as
Bourke and Meehan, and any of James Black, immigrant's siblings who stayed in
Ireland or landed elsewhere.
