Obituary for TOM C BLACK, Abilene Reporter, 1-14-1993
Lubbock--Services for Tom C Black, 67, will be at 2 pm Friday in Ford
Memorial Chapel at First Baptist Church with Dr. D.L. Lowrie officiating
Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park, directed by Resthaven Funeral
Home.
He died Wednesday in a local hospital following a sudden illness. Mr.
Black was born in Anson and moved to Lubbock in 1964 from Abilene. He
had been employed in food sales, was a Mason and a member of the First
Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Jerri Black of the home;
four daughters, Kandy Adams, Tana Askins, Mandy Simpson, all of Lubbock,
and Star Wendt of Dallas; two sisters, Etta Bea Woodard of Hawley and
Francis Ann Ward of Anson; three brothers James Lewis Black of Stamford,
and Leon Black and E.J. Black both of Anson; and four grandchildren.

JESSIE JANE WOODARD BLACK
Colorado City--Jessie Jane Woodard Black, 86, died Thursday in Colorado
City. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with
the Rev. Glenn Roenfeldt officiating. Burial will be in Spade Cemetery,
directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Black was born in Leon Co. and had lived in Mitchell Co. since
1942. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bennie Edward Black of Colorado City; a
son, A.J. Gernandt of Ira; two daughters June Black Petty of Colorado
City and Joyce Black of Fort Worth; a brother Raymond Woodard of
Mathiss; two sisters, Mildred Yancey of Lovington, N.M., and Irma Still
well of Corpus Christi, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
