Dear Linda,
Thanks for the reply and interesting "quandry." You say that Margaret Conely
"also was a descendent from Scotland." I take it this means James McNitt
Black was a descendent from Scotland also? Also, many of our Scottish
ancestors came to America via Ireland and the plantations. Ships lists from
Ireland might be a possiblity. Is McNitt Irish or Scottish? If it's Irish
how did it get handed down.

Any luck with cemetery records in Boone County?

All this thinking I'm sure you have been through already, but two heads are
better than one, at least in my case.

Below are the James Blacks from my genealogy beginning with the first James
Black.

James Black

James. Witnesses: Mr. James anderson, Minister, James Anderson and James
Wilson.

Christened 25 Sep 1713 Cullen, Scotland
Cullen O.P.R. 25 Sep 1713: William Black in Pittenbringand had a child
Baptised called James (Begotten of his wife Margaret Tailour) Witnesses:

Thanks again for your interest.
