I would appreciate receiving information anyone may have on John Black and
his family. He was born about 1793 in Tennessee, died 1863-1865 in
Limestone County, Alabama. He was included in the 1811 census of Madison
County, Alabama, part of which is now Limestone County. He was also shown
on the 1820, 1830, 1840, 1850 and 1860 census for Limestone County, Alabama.
He had at least three children by his first wife, whose identity is unknown:
John Black Jr. - born about 1813, Alabama, died about 1855 in Alabama.
Married Winnie Pease (Peace) in 1836
Thomas Black - born about 1815, Alabama
William Black

John Black Senior married Mary Roberts March 24, 1844 and had at least seven
children with her:
Susannah R. Black - born about 1844 in Alabama, married W. O. Handy
Margaret Black - born 1847-1848 in Alabama
Mary Black - born July, 1850 in Alabama
Elmira Black - born about 1852 in Alabama
Nancy J. Black - born about 1855 in Alabama
Mark N. Black - born about 1858 in Alabama
Jefferson Davis Black - born after 1860 in Alabama
