I am looking for the person who had James Hawkins BLACK, Jacob Henry BLACK
and Michael BLACK in their familline. I lost your e-mail address. I have
LOTS of names from Montgomery Co. TN and surrounding counties. My info
varies from yours though. I will give you some of the info I found on the
LDS microfische. I know they are not always accurate but they are something
to go on. I also found several census records withs lots of names.
My gggm-Mariah Francis Black married Tom Ellis may 24, 1866
Mariah's father- James Hawkins Black married Lucy ann Lee Sept. 24, 1846
1850 census Montgoery Co. TN: James Black- 34; Lucy Ann-25; Alfred-12;
Elizabeth-10; Willie "Jacob"-7; Rebecca-4; Mariah Francis- 3; Rufus H.-10/12.
I think Alfred, Elizabeth and maybe Jacob were James by a first marriage. I
nat sure Jacob was his. His is listed as Willie Jacob Black in the middle of
the family like he was not a child. They would not normally put their last
name in the middle of the family.
1860 Montgomery Co. TN--Luc-35; ElizabethJacob-17; Rebecca15; (my Mariah
disappears this year but apears in 1870.) Rufus-9; William-7; Agnes-5;
Mike-3; Mary-2; Rebecca-50; Minerva-30.
I don't know where James was during this time. I am assuming that the older
Rebecca was his mother and Minerva was his sister. they are listed in there
own hosehold in 1850 as BLACK. The first child Alfred was married with one
child in 1860.
I have pages of , I'm almost positive, family names if you want them. Too
many to type. If anyone else out there needs a name BLACK from TN, let me
know. I am still sifting through them. I think they were a very prolific
family:-))) Debby
