I have in my notes on the family of William Black, died 1781 (age 56),
married Martha Gillespie and came to America in 1730 settling in Pa. the
information came from the autobiography of The Rev. James Boyce, whose
father was Samuel A. Boyce and mother, Deborah, d/o John Black, Sr.
William Black was his mother's immigrant ancestor.

Perhaps the book "The Black Family of Carrabus County, NC and Abbeville,
SC" will clear this up (or add to the confusion!).

If someone has access to the book maybe they can do a look-up.
