I am a descendant of Thomas Gillespie Black and Mary "Polly Callahan.
Thomas was born in Mecklenburg NC but went to Oglethorpe GA. When their
daughter, my 3GGrandmother Elizabeth Amanda Black was about 8 or 9 years old
they traveled to
Maury Co., TN. I have all of the siblings of Elizabeth Amanda. Incidently,
she was born in GA and eventually crossed the plains with her husband, James
Givens Campbell, to Oregon in 1853. They settled in Polk County in the
Willamette Valley and raised their family. Their oldest daughter, Elizabeth
Amanda Campbell Frazer was my GGM. I have all their children if anyone is
interested.
