1790 U. S. Census, Mecklenburg Co.,NC, District #13: James Black, William
Black, John Black. District #10, Thomas Black.

Possibly Thomas, John, William were s/o James. The area later became
Cabarrus Co (1792).

Other sons of James Black: Samuel, Robert and Joseph. In 1792, Robert and
Joseph were in Abbeville Co. S. C. Samuel not yet married and with
brother, John remained in Cabarrus Co.,NC.

Thomas Black died in York (or Union) Co.,S.C.
Robert Black died at close of Rev. War; his widow and children lived in
Abbeville, SC. Full account of this family in "The Black Family of
