I descend from ROBERT BLACK, d. Green Co KY 1805,
and his son John BLACK, d. 1818 Green Co KY.
Below is some research done on John Black. I am
very interested in hearing form other people
researching him.

1. ROBERT1 BLACK was born Abt. 1750 in Possibly
NC, and died August 1805 in Green Co KY. He
married (possibly) SARAH LATTIMORE Abt. 1770,
daughter of JOHN LATTIMORE and ISABEL FRAZIER
(this marriage is not proven by me..speculation
only). She was born in possibly NC, and died Aft.
1810.

In 1815 John and Lucinda sold for $600 to Samuel
Sublett, land on Clover Lick-76 3/4 A(Green Co
Deed Bk 7, page 100
John wrote his will is April 1818, leaving the
plantation where he now lived to Lucinda,his
wife. At the end of her widowhood or his death,
the plantation went to his children.
29 Dec 1819. Edward Upton sold to Exec of John
Black for the benefit of the children for 5
shillings land on Clover Lick, 50 Acres, part of
the Uptons claim of 1797-land bordered that of
Robert Black.
28 December 1819 Samuel Sublett sold land to exec
of John Black for $50. 39 Acres at the head of a
dry branch
Sept 16 1835
Nancy Black sold to William Stockton for $275, her
part of a tract of land being the land on which
John Black lived and died, given to Nancy by her
father's will

In the name of God Amen. I John Black of the
county of Green and State of Kentucky being weak
of body but of perfect mind and memory, and
calling to mind that it is appointed of God for
all men to die, do make this my last will and
testament.
First I will my soul to God who gave it hoping
through his mercy to meet with salvation and my
body I consign to the dust from whence I came to
be buried in a decent burial at the discretion of
my executors hereafter to be named. As to such
earthly state as it has pleased God to help me
with I give --?--
and bequeath in manner following towit. I lend
to my wife during her widowhood the land and
plantation whereon I now live, she to have and
enjoy the same with all the improvements thereon
free from rent, for the support and education of
my children and at the expiration of her
widowhood or death I give the same to my children
to be equally divided between them. It is futher
my will and desire if my wife chose that my said
land and plantation with the improvements be sold
by my executors on convenient credit for money and
that in the event of a sale that my wife have one
third of the proceeds of such sale and that the
residue be secured in good hands for the benefit
of my children to be equally divided between them
as they may respectively arrive of lawful age, and
until they may arriveof age that the interest of
their respective portions be applied to their
educations respectively. It is futher my will and
desire that all my personal estate be sold on
Convenient Credit for money and that all my
____debts be paid after which It is my will and
desire that the proceeds of my personal estate be
also applied for the support and education of my
children allowing to my wife one third of such
proceeds after paying my debts.
It is my will and desire that should my wife marry
that she should have one fourth of my estate in
conjunction with my children.
Lastly I constitute? and appoint my beloved wife
Lucinda Black and her brother William Stockton
whole and sole executor of theis my last will and
testament hereby revoking all others, either in
word or writing by me heretofore made. In
Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed my seal this 11th day of April 1818 In--?

At a county court held for Green Co at the
courthouse in Greensburg this 27th day of April
1818
This last will and testament was produced into
court by the executors therein named and proven
by the oath of Samuel Bunt and Nathaniel Hizer two
of the subscribing witnesses thereto to have been
signed sealed and published by the said Black to
have been his last will and testament and at the
time of signing the same that they believe him to
have beenin his perfect mind and memory Which is
truly recorded in my office given under my hand
