I have very little on my Black family tree.My father was Russell Holman Black
born in San Saba,San Saba Co.Texas,He was born 18 Dec.1886.His father was
Isaac Russell Black born 22 Dec 1843 in Meriwether co,Ga town unknown.He
married a lady named Nan Dove with whom he had two children.After her death he
married my grandmother Charlotte Elizabeth Thornton 22 Nov 1877.I have their
original wedding certificate.He died in Skagit Co.Wash 10 Sept 1909 and is
buried at Bayview Cemetery in Bayview,Skagit Co.Wash.I have his father listed
as Thomas Black.I obtained this name on a census for Meriwether Co.Ga.1850.I
have his son Isaac listed as 14 years old and all the brothers and sisters
names are correct.I have from the census a estimated birthdate for Thomas as
1805. in North Carolina.This is unproven.I know my Black family lived in
Randolph Co,Alabama for awile and after the civilwar moved to Texas.I have
Seen it written that Isaac was in the civil war.I have researched this line
for 40 years and thisis as far as I can get.Now with my new computer I hope I
can Make a connection and verify Isaac civil war sevice from Ga. I would be
most apprecitive of any help or how to continue,Elaine Swan
