Hi everyone I don't know a lot about this family it is my husband's
family but I will tell you what I know and maybe someone can fill in
some details...
Theodore (Patrick) BLACK was a bouncer in a St. Louis Saloon before he
married Leora Runkle
Theodore was 6ft 4 and weighed 270 lbs. he was born poss in Missouri
Leora RUNKLE was born in Minnesota and was someone who loved to have
"the fastest horse"
They had a child named Matthew Black who married Ledora (Dora) PITTS.
Matthew is my husbands grandfather and he is still alive today. Matthew
and Ledora met in Tulsa, Ledora was from OK and her mother's name is Ida
Lee Pitts (second marriage made her a HEROD) She is in her nineties and
is still living in OK although her daughter died of lung cancer.
Ida Lee Pitts' father was a full blooded Cherokee Indian who walked the
Trail of Tears when he was about 40.

Matthew Black and Ledora PITTS had Duane Steven Black, David Norton
Black Sr., Timothy Matthew and Diana Black Moffeit
Duane lives in Georgia, David in Pacifica CA, Timothy Matthew Black in
Oklahoma and Diana MOFFEIT in Oklahoma

David has had three children David BLACK Jr, Jeffrey Roger Black and
Heather Black
The boys by Glenda GILSTRAP and Heather by Sandy ?

I wish that I could supply dates, because I know how useless geneology
research is without them, but I just don't have any other than
approximate ages. I am just hoping someone researching Blacks will
recognize some of these names.
