I've been researching the following family for years and have reached the
proverbial stone wall.
James R. Black b. 1835 in Smithland, Livingston Co., Ky.
d. 9 Dec. 1904 in Cairo, Ill.
m.Mary Angelina Mitchell 1 Feb 1855 in Smithland,
Ky.
b. 3 Sept 1837 in Smithland
d.10 May 1924 in Mound City, Ill
Their children were:
William R.
Sarah
Emma
Amanda
James Alfred
On a census record, James R. gave his parents birthplace as Tennessee. I do
not know their names.
