One of the "unusual first names" is in my BLACK line.

Almeda Scofield BLACK was born in 1871 in Bethlehem, Wayne Co., Iowa.
Her parents were Philemon Perry BLACK and Hannah SCOFIELD. Philemon and
Hannah were from Hanover, Chautauqua Co., NY. The BLACKs moved to Fort
Collins, CO in 1873. Philemon was an orchardist near Terry Lake north of

Fort Collins. Almeda married Dr. George Harry BUFFUM in 1898 in Fort
Collins. Almeda and George lived in Cheyenne, WY for a few years and
then lived the rest of their years in Sheridan, WY.

I have fairly complete data on this line of BLACKs. Other branch
surnames in this line include: BROWNELL, MARKLEY, DOTTS, STERRETT, SOAR,

BUFFUM, SCOFIELD, THIRTYACRE
