Here are my BLACKS in Kentucky. (They didn't stay long)
John Black, son of John Black & Mary, b. ca. 1722 in Augusta County, VA,
d. ca. 1795/1797 in Bourbon County, KY. He married Martha Patrick,
daughter of Robert Patrick & Rachel, bef. 10 Aug 1761 in Augusta County,
VA. She d. 1797 in Bourbon County, KY. They lived at Beverley Manor,
Augusta Co., VA until 1785. Children: Robert, John, Samuel, and William
Black.
Samuel Black, son of John Black & Martha Patrick, b. aft. 10 Aug 1761.
d. 1827. He married Rosannah Wright, 23 Apr 1787 in Augusta County, VA.
She b. 4 Apr 1765. d. 13 Sep 1835 in IL. The family move from Virginia
to Kentucky was between 1787 and 1794. A land grant was issued to Samuel
in 1799 for 240 acres of land in Bourbon County, KY near Lexington.
Children: Martha Patrick, Jane "Jenny", James, Elizabeth, John, Samuel
William, Rosannah Gambel, William, and Margaret "Peggy" Black.
Samuel William Black, son of Samuel Black & Rosannah Wright, b. 21/22
Oct 1804 in Lexington, KY, d. 15 Sep 1870 in Sidell, IL. He married
Nancy Collins, daughter of Foster Collins & Elizabeth Matheny, 13/15 Feb
1827 in Bourbon County, KY. She b. 17 Aug 1806 in Lexington, KY. d. 30
Aug 1890 in IL. Samuel and Nancy resided in Bourbon Co., KY where the
four or five eldest children were born, and then moved to Vermilion Co.,
IL in October 1836. Children: Samuel Harvey, William Foster, James W.,
Marilda Jane, Sara Elizabeth, Lewis Franklin, Lucinda (Lucy), Nancy Ann,
Margaret Francis, and John Westberry Black.
