COLIN BLACK was b 1792 Scotland, according to census. He married
Elizabeth May 13 Aug 1830 in Marengo Co. AL. She was b 1791 SC. Colin
died aft 1848 and is buried in Marengo Co. He was a Mason. They had
three children:

LUCINDA BLACK--b 1831 Marengo Co.-married James Roch Hill 1846 (There
are some records that indicate that one Lucinda Black's father was John
Black, an Indian who was a scout for the US Army--???) Well,my Colin had
a Lucinda & I THINK she is the one who m James Hill....need help here to
clear this up. If you have a Lucinda Black in AL at this time, let me
hear from you.

JAMES M BLACK --b 1832 Marengo Co. IL

Margaret(or Martha) Catherine BLACK b 1835 Marengo Co., married John F
Glover 1852, they are buried in Colin Black Cem, Dayton, Marengo Co AL.

Colin had some involvement with three BLACK brothers who were living in
Marengo Co. before 1850:
WILLIAM F. BLACK b 1810 KY, m Rhoda HYLTON 1845, Marengo Co. AL
THOMAS C. BLACK b 1817 TN, m LYDIA (O'NEAL) HARRISON, bef 1850 Marengo
Co
JOSEPH M. BLACK b 1829 AL, m Letha A O'NEAL 1850 Marengo Co. AL

William, Tom, and Joseph left for TX after the 1850 census & Tom & Joe
were in Anderson Co. TX by Dec. 1850--none of them named any kids Colin,
I don't know what their connection was, but he was on their records as
witness, bondsman, security, whatever, many times.
Letha & Joseph Black are my gr-gr grandparents, and I have East Texas
Blacks.

Any info sincerely appreciated.
