This is to advise you that a new Website is being developed by THE
IMMIGRANT SHIPS TRANSCRIBERS GUILD, a group of over 100 volunteers who
decided to transcribe NARA microfilmed passenger lists and make them
freely available to anyone on the Internet.

As of this date there are over 50 transcribed lists on this site and
100 more being >>worked on. In addition the GUILD has had 100 lists
donated
to the site and many sites >>agreeing to the linking of their ships and
sites to the GUILD site and it is hopeful these >>will shortly be up on
the
site, which is still under construction.

If you have a transcribed list or photocopies of a NARA list you'd
like to donate you >>are asked to send an e-mail to the Site Coordinator
at
giving the name >>of the ship, the port of departure and

date, the port of arrival and date. If you have a >>website with a
transcribed list on it contact the Resource Coordinator at

giving your URL, and all other information concerning the ships on your

site. If you would >>like to volunteer to transcribe a list contact the
Volunteer Coordinator at >>.

The GUILD's site is located at http://iigs.rootsweb.com/immships

This site is searchable by passenger name, date of arrival and ships
name!
