Hello!
I began researching my father's family while taking a course in
Ethnicity in college. I found it fascinating but also found too many
dead ends. That was about 20 years ago. My grandmother always talked
about her family and the reunions the Armstrong clan has in Texas every
year. She talked about war hero's, being related to Audie Murphy and I
decided for a gift for my Mom to do a family tree for her for Mom's Day
and find out what was true and what wasn't. Well, it exploded! It is
fascinating history so for Christmas I will put what I have into a book
form for my mother. Also, I am continuing on with my fathers family and
have begun my in-laws trees as well.

Polly Black married Jesse Devore. I am looking for any information on
them, especially the family of Polly. I also wonder if her name could be
Mary as Polly is a common nickname for Mary or maybe it is Polly Mary or
Mary Polly. Both of these names are common in the family ancestory.
