I am researching my family line of PASS. We have a Zillah Dorothy
Pass, born May 22, 1812 and died March 16, 1839 that married a Lemuel
Black Jr. on Dec. 13, 1832.

Lemuel Black, Jr. was born Dec. 9, 1809 in Oglethorpe Co., Ga. and
died December 31, 1859 in Walton Co., GA. He was the son of Lemuel
Black, Sr. and Mary Ann Williams.

Lemuel and Zillah had the following children:

1. Mary Ann Black, b. 1833
2. John Wesley Black, b. 1835. Married Martha P. Baker
3. Frances David Black, b. June 19, 1836 in Georgia, died July 13,
1862 in VA.
4. Charlotte Hewell Black, b. 1838 in Georgia, Married William
Charles Shelnutt.

All of the information that I have was said to have come from a book
"The Shelnutt Book of Records" by Jean Shelnutt. The information on
the Black Family was taken from the Black Bible which was mailed to
Calvin Doster Shelnutt of Sandersville, Georgia, by Mattie Black of
Monroe, Georgia, in 1940. In her letter, dated July 15, 1940, she
refers to Lemuel Black as grandfather.

If anyone has any informtion on this family or where I could get
copies of this Black Family Bible I would really like to hear from
them. Does anyone have a copy of this "Shelnutt Book" by Jean
Shelnutt.
