After reading quite a few nice stories on the list, thought I would
add mine to them. I started a few years ago after brain surgery that
I was just glad to survive. A lot of time to kill while in rehab. I
started writing down what I thought was the entire family history as
I was always interested and My Grandparents made sure as the eldest
grandson I knew it. Well I didn't pay close enough attention and am
still searching for surname Black from Scotland. Took my first trip
overseas to Scotland and Ireland this year. The best part is all
the very nice people I have met in my search, some even relatives.
I enjoy helping others, and tend to lurk at most sites. My
immigrant ancestor John Black came from Ballyin Donegal Ireland about
1730 to Boston. I also try to keep track of those of surname Black
belonging to Clan Lamont. And have a lot of this surname related
and not related from the state of Maine. Good Luck to all, glad
