Hello, I am new to your list. My connection to the "BLACK" surname
goes back as far as:
Carlisle BLACK, b. 12 Dec 1809, GA, d. 10 Jan 1894, Attala, MS. He
married:
Elizabeth Betsy POOLE, b. 13 May 1813, TN d. 4 Aug 1874, Choctaw, MS.
They were the parents of 13 children, too many to list here. But
I will say that from Georgia they migrated to Benton Co., Alabama
(1840
Census) and settled in Winston Co. MS., (1850 Census) I am hopeful
to establish Carlisle's parents. All I have is a name for his father,
