Subject: [BLACK-L] migration patern of the Black line
Date: Thu, 8 Oct 1998 12:56:02 -0500
Our line appears to have originated in the Carolina, by way of possibly
Georgia and in or around 1803
Charles Pinkney Black ended up in St. Louis, MO and married Lucinda Avant.
He lived on the Illinois
side of St. Louis and stood for elected office as a county judge or
commissioner. His Pinkney middle
name takes root somehow from the Carolinas and he named a son Coatsworth
Pinkney Black.
Coatsworth Pinkney Black had a son named Jonathan Harvey Black who raised
his family including
my grandfather Monroe Frank Black in Reynolds County Missouri. Does anyone
have a clue as
to the Coatsworth or Pinkney connection with the Black line. Thanks
