BLACK/SCHWARTZ
My ancestors migrated from Lancaster, Pa starting with
SCHWARTZ/HEINRICH
b. Abt. 1724 in Germany,( possibly Rhineland Palatine) who arrived in
Philadelphia on 20 Sept 1743 on the ship Lydia. He is believed to be
living in Beaver Creek, Va by 1761, and to Rockingham County, Va abt
1784. His wife was PENCE, MARY, d/o PENCE, VALENTINE. Henry's son
Friedrich Schwartz Sr b. 1743/1744 was known to have lived in
Rockingham
County, VA. in that same time period . His wife was Salome, or Solomon.
Friedrich Sr.'s son Frederick Black/Schwartz b. 3 Nov 1761 mar to
ARGABRIGHT, MARY, migrated to Preble County, Ohio about 1804-1805. One
of Frederick Black Jr's sons John Black b26 Apr 1796 mar to
Magdalena(Polly, Mary) Flegle moved on to Elkhart County , Indiana ,
and
their descendants later to Noble County, and Kosciusko County, Indiana.
