Hi:

I am looking for ANY information on the following family line:

1. James Black, b. abt 1820-1825, Ireland
Spouse, Mary Hillman, b. abt 1820/1830, Ireland

2. Alexander George Black (in some records he is listed as George
Alexander), b. 1851, Ireland, d, 1929, Vancouver, B.C. Canada; m. abt
1875, Jemima Johnston, b. 1858, Manitoba, Canada; d. 1915, Manitoba,
Canada

Ch: (Note: all children born in same area)

James Black, b. 1877, near Greenridge, Manitoba, Canada
Mary Ann (Marie) Black, b. 1879; m. 1. John Hector (Jack)
Stewart 2. Foulds
John N. Black, b. 1881
Elizabeth Esther Black, b. 1883
Jemima May Black, b. 1885
Leslie A. Black, b. 1887
Ethel Mildred Black, b. 1890; m. 1907 Lynton Norman Stewart; m.
2 Richard L. Frye; d. 1977, Portland, OR; buried Seattle, WA
Joseph Black, b. 1891
Edith Black, b. 1895
Pearl Black, b. 1900

At least two of these children came to the United States. Mary Ann (She
later went by Marie) Black was living in Seattle, WA by 1929. Ethel
Mildred Black came to the US in the 1930's and never left.

Family stories say that Alexander George Black (also known as
Hillman-Black) was a "remittance man", paid a sum by his family NOT to
return to Ireland. Supposedly, he came from County Tyrone, and was one
of a number of siblings.

ANY information, of any type, on this family would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

Lynton Stewart
