Hi-

My Blacks are originally from Scotland. I've traced the family back to
Mark, who was born in Glasgow in 1831. He marrried Jane Smith, born in
Rutherglen in 1829. Their five children were all born in England
(Woolwich and the Channel Islands) while Mark was serving in the Army
Hospital Corps.

To my knowledge, their son John was the only child to emigrate to the US
(in 1909). I believe the rest of the family remained in Scotland.
