Anyone researching Christopher Black b. Abt. 1821, married to Sarah. ?
They had a son, John Alexander Black, b. June 17, 1841, Buffalo
Township, PA d. Nov. 19, 1905, Carthage, MO. Married October 5, 1865 to
Elizabeth L. Prye b. Sept. 2, 1845, New Castle, PA, d. Apr. 24, 1924,
Palisade, CO. John Served as a Private, Company B, 78th Pennsylvania
Infantry Regiment. Enrolled February 26, 1862. Discharged on February
25, 1865 in Nashville, Tennesssee. (The preceding info was imported from
Brøderbund World Family Tree Vol. 3, Ed. 1, Tree #0489, "Family Tree
Maker")

They had a son, John Franklin Black b. April 11, 1877, Butler County,
PA, d. January 30, 1917, Rudd, Arkansas. He was married to Winnie Belle
Hudspeth b. Feb. 27, 1893, Carroll County, AR d. Feb 22, 1982, Little
Rock, AR. (John was a Hard Rock Miner who died of Black Lung Disease)
They had sons, Edward Jay Black, b. Jan. 10, 1913, Webb City, MO d.
August 4, 1988, Little Rock, AR. (m. Hazel Wickersham) & John Franklin
Black, jr., b. March 12, 1911, Webb City, MO, d. March 8, 1991, Conway,
AR. John was married to Velma Beula Bohannan b. July 7, 1913,
Huntsville, AR, d. August 1985, Fresno County, California. John & Velma
had 8 children - 4 boys/4 girls. (John Jr and Velma were my paternal
Grandparents)
