Dear list members,

I'm finally getting this on to the list to see if it rings bells with
anyone. My Blacks must have come from England after 1832, but have so
far been unable to trace them back any further or verify the
connections. The county in MN is Sherbourne Co., the location Big Lake.
The information I have from the 1880 census lists John and Priscilla and
their 8 children. William Taylor Black is my grandfather:

1-John Black (b. abt 1832, ENG - d. ???MN?)
(both of his parents were born in England as well, but I have no names,
locations, etc.)
sp: Priscilla ________(b. abt 1842, ME - d. ????MN?)
2-Henry Black (b. abt 1862, MN - d.???)
2-William Taylor Black (b. 1866, MN - d. 1919, IN?)
sp: Mary Francis Cowherd (b. 1872, KY - d. 1961, KY)
3-Ada Black (b. 1898, KY - d. 1984, IN?)
3-Sarah Ellen Black (b. 1905, KY? - d.???)
3-Clara Dot Black (b. abt 1909, IN? - d.???)
3-Frances Black (b. abt 1900, KY - d. aft 1960)
3-Wm Haven Black (b. 1911, IN - d. 1994, CO)
2-Libby Black (b. 1864, MN - d. ????)
2-Lorry Black (b. 1871, MN - d. ???)
2-Albert Black (b. 1873, MN - d. ???)
2-John Black (b. 1875, MN - d. ????)
2-Robert Black (b. 1876, MN - d. ????)
2-Lucy Black (b. 1878, MN - d. ????)
2-Ina Black (b. 1879, MN - d. ????)

According to the Wright Co. MN 1860 census, a John was married to an
Emma J. from VT., but whether this is the same John is unclear. The ages
are about right, but . . . .

If you have any connections or ideas, please let me know.

Many thanks!

Sandy
