Hi. Sorry, but I'm not very knowledgable on genelogical searching, but I
do know that dates and places of birth/death are rather key.
Unfortunately, all I have is what I have in the Discharge Papers from
when GGGrandfather George Washington Black (give ot take a G) exited the
Civil War.

That would be:
Private (who served under)
Captain Augustine M. Jenkins (in the)
31st Regiment of Illinois Infantry
Enrolled January 15, 1864
Discharged July 19, 1865 (at)
Loiusville, KY

(he was born in) Murry Co., Tennisee [Tennesee](in)
1830
(he was a farmer when he enlisted)

It is believed that he was Cherokee, but does not appear on the official
Rolls. Would this match any lines outh there?

Sorry if this is an ill advised format, or just plain old worthless
info.
