My John was born in TN 1809, probably Montgomery Co. His father, David
moved the family into Gallatin Co. IL ca 1830. John was a blacksmith by
trade. He married Johanna Stetson 17 Feb 1837. Their children:

Elizabeth J., b. 1838?
David McLin, b. 1842
Mary C., b. 1844
Isaac M., b. 1846
William M., b. 1848
John W., b. 1851
James Riley, b. 1854
Samuel S., b. 1857

All born in Gallatin Co. IL
