Hi Everyone-

My John S Black was born 2/24/1870 in Woolwich, England to Mark and Jane
(Smith) Black.

He had several siblings, including a sister, Villiaet (or Villialt) Steward
Black, born in 1866. Both of John's parents were born in the Glasgow,
Scotland area. It appears Mark was attached to the military base in
Woolwich in Woolwich when John and his sister were born. The family
returned to Scotland prior to 1891. John emigrated to the US in 1907.

I suspect from family naming patterns that Mark's father was also a "John
Black". Mark was born about 1831 in Glasgow (possibly Barony).
