Great Grandfather William Sheridan BLACK b. 1846 in
Montgomery Co. AL - d. 2 Nov 1922 Mills Co., TX

>From his death certificate and census records we know his
Father was Great Great Grandfather Reuben E. BLACK b. NC - Mother
Unknown but census records say born in GA.

William Sheridan BLACK was a Texas Ranger and served in the 2 Texas
Mounted Rifles during the Civil War.

He married on 11 June 1865 in Lampasas, TX to
Frances Corine MYERS b.13 Jan 1847 Cass Co., TX -
d. 4 Oct 1943 Brownwood, TX. Both are buried in
Mills Co., TX. (We call her Great Grannie Fannie.)

Children:

Bina BLACK b. 1866 CA.
Anna BLACK b. 1867 CA. (Grannie)
Morgan BLACK b. 1869 CA.
Allie BLACK b. 1872 TX
William BLACK (Willie) b. 1876 TX
Samuel E. BLACK b. 1883 TX

Rumor says that lots of our BLACK family kin are
still living in Texas around Brownwood. Would appreciate
any help or ideas on how to contact as we only know the
last name is BLACK.

Also would like help on tracing ancestors, siblings or descendants of
this BLACK family.
