Subject: These are the Blacks I have to offer.

This first Couple I have no dates on. Their fchildren were born in
Mecklenburgh, NC. William S. Black M Eleanor Beard. He died just from a
war
injurty during Civil War.
Known Children are
Thomas Gillespie Black b 26 Jan 1772 b Mecklenburgh, NC Married Mary Polly
Callahan 1795 in Oglethorpe GA. D 20 Nov 1823 Maurey Co., TN.

My sources so far are from informaion in a book From Pioneer to Scientist
by Carl and Bessie Black. Thomas Gillespie Black was a first cousin of
Green Vardeman Black who is the father of modern Dentistry,
Also, I found information on this entire family in "United States Biographic
Dictionary, found in the Santa Clara City Library, also there is a Copy at
Sutro Lib in SF. They will not let you Xerox them any more the books are
really fragile.
My direct ancestor: Thomas Gillespie Black: these are his and Mary Polly's
children.

She and James Givens Campbell are my great Great Grandparents. They moved
to Davis Co., IA and later to OR in 1853 where they took up a Donation Land
Claim on Salt Creek in Polk County. Elizabeth d 1863 in Polk Co. and is
burried in the Dallas Cemetery Polk Co, OR. Note: James is the brohter of
John Berry Campbell and Amanda the sister of Cynthia Beard Campbell. I have
a copy of a letter written to James and Amanda from Cynthia and John dated
1864.

According to the information I recieved there were three additional children
not accounted for. If anyone has these or have any corrections or additions
feel free to let me know.
I have a few more things to add.
Child nine Eleanor Matilda married a mr. Leeper.

Someone with any of them. I have the children of William Black and Mary
Vaughn also.
