Hi all,
I'm looking for the parents of John R. Black, b. 24 Aug 1824 in IN or IL.
He married Sarah A. Weaver bef 1860. She was b. abt 1828 in PA.
I'm also looking for her parents.
They lived in Corning, Adams, IA and are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Jasper
Twp, Adams, IA.
John R. Black died 22 Feb 1899 prob. in Corning, IA and Sarah died aft Nov
1922, in Corning, IA.
They had five children, Emma Black, Eva Black, Harry Black, and Lee Black,
all of whom are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Adams, IA. This leads me to
believe they may have died young.
They also had a son, William Azro Black, who was born 15 Dec 1860 in Monmoth,
Warren, IL. He married Emma Ramsey 4 Apr 1889 in Warren, IA? or IL? or IN?
Will died 20 Nov 1922, Corning, Adams, IA and his wife Emma Ramsey died 11
Jan 1935 in Quincy Twp, Corning, Adams IA. Both of them are buried in Oak Hill
Cemetery, Jasper Twp, Corning, Adams, IA, along with two daughters who died
either at birth or in infancy.
Will and Emma Black also had a son, Harry Milo Black,b. 24 Aug 1892,
Corning, Adams, IA. He married Leila Frances McCutcheon, in Feb 1921. They
were divorced. Harry Milo Black remarried, I do not know the wife's name.
Milo died in 1955 and is also buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Adams, IA.
Sadly, there are no headstones for any of these people at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Does this family ring a bell with anyone out there?
