I can't actually link your James Black to this line but I have the following
information on the Descendants of John Black of Ireland.

I'm descended from Elizabeth and William Blackburn but have a little on some
of the other lines. Also, if it turns out that you are descended from John
Black & Elizabeth Colville, please let me know...I have data on the Colville
line going back to a birth year of 1132! Would be happy to send it to you
even though I haven't verified any of it yet. Another lady sent me the
gedcom of the Colville line, think she got it from a book somewhere. I also
have some information on the Vance line as well so might be able to tie in
some info if Joseph Black & Jane Vance are your ancestors.
