I thought I'd introduce myself to everybody on the list. First off,
this is my first list that I've been administrator for, so please bare with
me until I get the hang of this. If you have any problems subscribing or
unsubscribing or need me to check the status of your email address, email me
and I'll take care of that. So, now a little about myself....
I am a 20 year old college student attending the University of
Montana. My major is history with a minor in either African or Native
American studies (both if I can). I started genealogy a little over 7
years ago, no, that's not a typo, I really was 13 :o). I got my start in it
when I found out from my grandmother on my fathers side that we were
supposedly descended from Governor William Bradford from the Mayflower, but
it turns out we aren't :o(. My Black line is on my mothers side.
Supposedly, it is this side that is part Indian, but I haven't found
anything to support that. My great grandmother on my mom's side told my
grandmother that she was part Indian from her father's mother's side (Black)
but from all evidence, it was actually her side (either Foxworthy or
Lipscomb). She was ashamed of it though and refused to talk about it after
that. Well, anyhow, I received quit a bit of information on my Black line
last fall and after bein stuck on that line and not being able to go back
further than my ggreat grandma, I was finally able to. I'm willing to look
up info for people in my database. Also, I have 7 of the World Family Trees
from Family Tree Maker and 2 Social Security Death Indexes. Send any lookup
requests to me personally. Well, that is all for now. Oh, one last thing.
I will be gone on a trip to Illinois June 21-July 15th or so, so Buck will
take over the list during that time. Hasta Luego.
