Juanita L. Marshall, 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 8:15 p.m. November 28, 2005. She passed away at her daughter and son-in law’s home in rural Vigo Co.
She was born Dec. 31, 1925 in Clay Co. to William Kyle Bernhardt and Anna Elizabeth Fortner Bernhardt.
She married Russell Wayne Marshall in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1981.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Lee Davidson and her husband William of Terre Haute; one grandson, William Kyle Davidson and his wife, Michelle, one great-granddaughter Makenna Renee Davidson of Terre Haute; two step-grandsons, Dakota Daniels of Terre Haute and Trevor Pinkston of Farmersburg; one sister Alice Mae Hofmann and her husband Lee of Brazil and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Lester Leroy Bernhardt, three sisters, Dorothy Hofmann, Nellie Champion and Edith Nicoson, one sister-in-law Margaret Bernhardt, three brothers-in-law Herbert Hofmann, Orville Seymour and Gifford Nicoson, one niece Joanne Smith, two nephews, Frosty Hofmann and James Nicoson and one step-granddaughter Heather Renee Pinkston.
Juanita enjoyed reading, gardening and mowing her grass. She spent many years as a caregiver to the sick starting with her mother at the age of 15, then later her father, her husband and many people in her community. Juanita loved her family and friends but her greatest love was her Lord Jesus Christ. He sustained her through many years of illness.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Ferriell and Dr. Jerry Caskey officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to services. Burial will follow in Cory Zion Cemetery.
