My ggrandfather Samuel Wesley Barringer (I have a picture of him) was born in Ontario in 1852, but I have yet to find his family. He had an older sister Angeline. He lists himself as English in the 1901 census records, with birthdate unknown. He married Emila (Ann) Brooks some time before 1881. He is a baker and they lived in Peterborough.
I did find some info on Loyalists, thought you might find it interesting. The area around Kingston has a plethora of Loyalist historic sites.
